An exercise in sorta minimalism. I was thinking about the repetitive sounds I hear while going about my day.
The spoken text reads "So here is what I’m doing now. I’m typing on my keyboard for a few minutes. It’s sorta weird because it feels like I’m performing something, even though I’m just typing. Odd, even the most mundane act of typing sentences into a computer can feel performative. Do you think when we go through our daily lives, we ever stop to consider that all we ever do is make noises? It’s quite constant.
It’s almost as if the only thing we are capable of is ultimately making things vibrate, as if the purpose of the vibrations are strictly in service to our reality."
Which is total nonsense, but I was probably thinking about my own noise sensitivity in general when writing it. Brains.
This text was written stream-of-conscious, typing on a mechanical keyboard that is very clicky. The typing clicks were recorded and added to the mix before reading it and adding a recording of that as well.
